What is Saimin Soup?

A Hawaiian classic, Saimin noodle soup is a comforting and flavorful dish inspired by Japanese, Chinese, and Filipino cuisines. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients 🛒:

  • 🍜 8 oz saimin noodles (or ramen noodles)
  • 🐓 4 cups chicken broth
  • 🧂 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 🌱 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 🧅 1 green onion (thinly sliced, for garnish)
  • 🍳 2 eggs (soft-boiled or scrambled, optional)
  • 🍤 4 oz shrimp (peeled and deveined, optional)
  • 🌿 1/2 cup spinach (optional)
  • 🥓 4 slices of cooked beef bacon (optional, crumbled)

Instructions 📋:

  1. Cook Noodles:
    • Boil noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. (5 minutes)
  2. Prepare Broth:
    • In a medium pot, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer. (5 minutes)
  3. Cook Proteins (if using):
    • Add shrimp to the broth and cook until pink. For soft-boiled eggs, cook separately. (5 minutes)
