  • 🥣 Vegetable or Chicken Broth: 4 cups
  • 🌿 Thyme: 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Oregano: 1 tsp
  • 🌶️ Paprika: 1 tsp
  • 🌶️ Cayenne Pepper: 1/4 tsp (optional)
  • 🍤 Shrimp: 500g (peeled, deveined)
  • 🍗 Chicken Thighs: 2 medium, boneless and skinless, cut into pieces
  • 🌱 Bay Leaves: 2
  • 🧂 Salt and Pepper: To taste
  • 🥄 File Powder: 1 tsp (optional)
  • 🍋 Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp (optional)
  • 🌿 Fresh Parsley: Chopped, for garnish

🕒 Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Veggies (⏱️ 5 minutes):
    • In a large pot, melt 🧈 butter over medium heat. Add 🧅 onion, 🧄 garlic, 🌶️ bell peppers, 🥕 carrot, and 🌽 corn. Cook until softened (about 5 minutes).
  2. Cook the Chicken (⏱️ 10 minutes):
    • Add 🍗 chicken thighs to the pot and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
  3. Add Broth and Spices (⏱️ 5 minutes):
    • Pour in the 🥣 vegetable or chicken broth, 🧂 salt, pepper, 🌿 thyme, 🌿 oregano, 🌶️ paprika, 🌶️ cayenne pepper, and 🧂 bay leaves. Stir and bring to a boil.

    • Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  5. Add Shrimp and Final Touches (⏱️ 5 minutes):
    • Add 🍤 shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and are fully cooked. Stir in 🥄 file powder and 🍋 lemon juice (if using).
