  • 🐓 Chicken Thighs or Breast: 1.5 lbs (700 g), cooked and shredded
  • 🌽 Hominy (cooked): 3 cups (canned or pre-cooked)
  • 🌶️ Poblano Peppers: 2, roasted and peeled
  • 🥒 Tomatillos: 6, husked and washed
  • 🧄 Garlic: 3 cloves
  • 🧅 Onion: 1 medium, chopped
  • 🌿 Fresh Cilantro: 1 cup, chopped
  • 🌿 Fresh Oregano: 1 tsp
  • 🥣 Chicken Broth: 6 cups
  • 🧂 Salt and Pepper: To taste
  • 🍋 Lime: Sliced, for serving

Optional Toppings:

  • 🥑 Avocado Slices
  • 🌿 Chopped Cilantro
  • 🧅 Diced Onion
  • 🌮 Crispy Tortilla Strips
  • 🌶️ Chili Flakes

🕒 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Verde Sauce (⏱️ 10 min):
    Blend 🌶️ roasted poblano peppers, 🥒 tomatillos, 🧄 garlic, 🧅 onion, and 🌿 cilantro with a cup of 🥣 chicken broth until smooth.
  2. Cook the Sauce (⏱️ 10 min):
    Heat a tablespoon of 🫒 olive oil in a large pot. Pour the verde sauce and cook over medium heat until fragrant.
  3. Combine Ingredients (⏱️ 10 min):
    Add the remaining 🥣 chicken broth, 🌽 hominy, and 🐓 shredded chicken to the pot. Stir in 🌿 oregano, 🧂 salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Serve:
