- 🌿 2 bay leaves

How to Make New Orleans Seafood Gumbo
Step 1: Make the Roux
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns a deep brown color (about 10 minutes).
Step 2: Build the Base
- Add the onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the roux.
- Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
Step 3: Add Seasonings and Stock
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning, paprika, and bay leaves.
- Add the diced tomatoes and seafood stock. Bring to a simmer.
